Child & Youth Counselling
A cornerstone to my work with children and teens is to collaborate with them to create a space where they feel safe and supported. I bring both professional expertise and a natural ability to connect with young people, creating a welcoming space where growth and change can unfold with ease.
The initial sessions are focused on getting to know your child, their unique personality, the challenges they (and your family) are facing, any previous counselling experiences, and the goals you'd like to work toward together. Each session is shaped by my authentic therapeutic style and may include a variety of therapeutic tools such as games, movement, grounding exercises, and age-appropriate structure. Humour and flexibility are also used thoughtfully to meet your child where they are.
Above all, I am committed to your child’s well-being and progress. I will work to provide practical tools, strategies, and a supportive presence every step of the way.
You’ll also collaborate with me to decide what level of parent involvement makes the most sense; whether that means participating directly in sessions or exploring parent-child counselling together. While the focus may be on your child, research shows that active parental involvement, either jointly or in parallel, can significantly enhance outcomes for the entire family.
At Liminal State Counselling, my mission is to provide your family with compassionate, customized support that fosters emotional regulation, healthier communication, and stronger relationships; all within a nurturing, client-centred environment.
